Najnowsze wieści z WWDC. Apple zamierza wprowadzić procesory Intela z linii x86 do swoich komputerów. Nie zapowiedziano nowych PB tak jak wszyscy tego chcieli... Zawsze słyszałem, że procesory "RISC" (np. G5) są wydajniejsze od "CISC" (x86). Niedawno okazało się, że G5 są szybsze od x86 w zastosowaniach naukowych. A teraz Apple zmienia architekturę. Po to żeby sprzedawać filmy? Nie dało się wprowadzić odpowiednich funcji w G5? Każda architektura ma swoje ograniczenia. Zarówno w PPC jak i x86 wprowadzana jest wielordzeniowość. Ciekawe, że PPC nadaje się dla stosunkowo tanich konsol nowej generacji, a dla Maków już nie. Jakiś czas temu Silicon Graphics (SGI) wprowadziło do swojej oferty komputery z procesorami Intela (x86). Na niewiele się to zdało. Od dłuższego czasu firma ta ma problemy finansowe. Mam nadzieję, że Apple nie przestanie z czasem produkować komputerów i nie zajmie się tylko wytwarzaniem rozmaitych odtwarzaczy. Od wielu lat mam Peceta i nigdy nie zamierzałem tego zmieniać. Chciałem jednak kupić PB G5 żeby mieć wydajnego laptopa opartego na RISC-u, z systemem operacyjnym prawie całkowicie odpornym na wirusy, konie trojańskie itp. Akurat dzisiaj przyjechał mój pierwszy Mac (do nauki systemu i testów).

To koniec. To koniec może nie komputerów Mac, ale koniec z system OSX. Kaktus mi wyrośnie i to na jajach, jeśli ludzie kupując Mac-Intela będą używać OSX... Dlaczego? Dlatego, że będą mogli bez problemu zainstalować Windowsa. I wiadomo że to w większości będą czynić (bo już teraz widać było co gadają o OSX, nie mając z nim nawet kontaktu, albo mając szczątkowy, chwilowy kontakt)... Tym bardziej że odwrotnie (OSX na PeCetach) zainstalować nię będzie można (kwestia stosowalności i uniwersalności powszechnej)...

Ta zmiana wyjdzie na dobre i nie sadze jak ktos pare postow wyzej by mozna bylo postawic winde na tak skonstruowanym Macu. Wezmy pod uwage ze procesor Intela dla Appla nie bedzie mial w sobie zgodnosci wstecz z poprzednimi wersjami prockow, przez co moze dostac sporego kopa w predkosci.
